Gosport Cooling Systems Replacement Project

iomart will be carrying out works to replace all of the air conditioning units in both data halls in Gosport, the works will be carried out over a eight-month period. The existing units are at end of life and will be replaced with new units that are more efficient and reliable. The contractor carrying out the work will be Sudlows who specialise in carrying out works in critical infrastructure environments. iomart have used Sudlows previously to successfully carry out cooling system replacement works in a live data centre environment.

How the work will be carried out

We will be replacing the existing units in a phased approach to ensure continuity of cooling to the Data Halls and that the space is not compromised with regards to the environmental temperature within the room. The work will be carried out on a one unit out, one unit in basis

When will the work be carried out?

The work is due to begin on 28th October 2024 with scheduled completion due in June 2025

Who will be completing the work?

Sudlows will be the main contractor carrying out the works, working in tandem with iomart management and electrical staff.

Will I experience downtime? As with any type of work of this nature there is a risk of downtime, however the planned works are expected to be non-service affecting. Shoulld any issues arise, the work will be halted and reverted to maintain the data hall temperatures and conditions

Network Infrastructure – Issues accessing a subset of Microsoft services

Starting at approximately 12:00 UTC on 30 July 2024, a subset of customers may experience issues connecting to Microsoft services globally.

Current status: Microsoft have multiple engineering teams engaged to diagnose and resolve the issue as soon as possible. Microsoft have identified multiple workstreams and are working to mitigate impacted workstreams by performing failover operations.
