            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Why did I receive an email asking me to verify my domain contact details?</p>
<p>If you've recently received an email from Hosting UK asking you to verify your domain contact details, you might be wondering why. For many customers this can feel unexpected, especially if you haven't seen this type of message before — but the email is genuine and relates to a required verification process for domain registrations.

From time to time, domain registrars must confirm that the contact information associated with a domain name is valid and up to date. You may receive an email similar to the example below asking you to verify the contact details on your domain registration.</p>
<p>Why you may receive this email even if you didn't change anything</p>
<p>Sometimes customers receive a verification email even if they don't remember updating their domain details. This can happen because verification may be triggered by:</p>
<p>-Registering a new domain</p>
<p>-Transferring a domain between providers</p>
<p>-Updating contact information</p>
<p>-Certain account or system updates that require contact details to be reconfirmed</p>
<p>Even if the domain has been registered for some time, verification may occasionally be required to ensure the contact information remains accurate.</p>
<p>Why this verification is required</p>
<p>Domain registrations worldwide are governed by rules set by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). One of these rules requires domain registrars to verify the registrant contact details linked to a domain name. This helps ensure:</p>
<p>Domain ownership records remain accurate

Fraudulent registrations are reduced

Domain holders can be contacted if necessary</p>
<p>Because of these requirements, Hosting UK may occasionally send an email asking customers to confirm their contact details.</p>
<p>What you need to do

If you receive this verification email, simply follow the link in the message to confirm your contact details. The process takes less than a minute.</p>
<p>What happens if verification isn't completed?

If the contact details are not verified within the required timeframe, the domain will be temporarily suspended until verification is completed. Once confirmed, the domain will become active again.</p>

• Existing domains will continue to resolve DNS normally.

<p>On each weekday 29th - 2nd there will be a maintenance window between 23:00 and 02:00, where we will replace switches with new models. During this window a a short period of downtime, not exceeding 15 minutes may be observed while these replacements are completed.</p>

<p>What will happen?

On Wednesday 6th of July we will be upgrading our mail servers to the latest version of the SmarterMail software. These updates include new features to help you in keeping your service secure, like Multi Factor authentication.</p>
<p>When will the work be carried out?

The maintenance window will begin at 21:00 (BST) on Wednesday 6th of July until 04:00 (BST) Thursday 7th of July.</p>
<p>Who will be completing the work?

All the work will be completed by our experienced technical support team.</p>
<p>Will I experience downtime?

Within the maintenance window service will be taken offline to complete the upgrade of software. The upgrade itself is expected to result in downtime not exceeding 1 hour. During this time, you will not be able to access any of your email services, and any emails sent will be queued for delivery once the service is back online.</p>

They have advised that myLittleAdmin to be removed from the server, they do not have an immediate fix and it looks unlikely they are not going to produce an update at any point in the future.  For more information on this issue please see:</p>

            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[<p>We are aware of an issue affecting some services using Sectigo SSL certificates issued prior to 1st May 2020, caused by the expiry of a root certificate which validates the authority of the SSL. This issue affects some older software resulting in a certificate error or warning. Further information can be found via https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/360048670574-Root-CA-Certificate-Expiration .</p>
<p>The necessary fix is to reinstall the SSL certificate bundle issued by Sectigo.</p>
<p>If you have purchased the affected SSL from us, it is possible to download the certificate again from your client are to install on your website.

If you purchased the SSL from a third party, please check with them on obtaining a copy of your SSL.

If you are a managed or shared hosting customer the SSL update has ether already been applied or will be as soon as humanly possible.

            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[<p>We recently had some issues with the xssl.net DNS zone which has affected some of the United Hosting servers.</p>
<p>We have resolved this now, however those who have accessed servers or mail using the domain during the time of the issue will have cached DNS records for up to 4 hours due to the existing TTL.</p>
<p>Ways to resolve this:</p>
<ul>
<li>Reboot your computer and router - The cached records should be cleared by this. Failing that, they could be getting cached by DNS servers further up/outside your network.</li>
<li>Use your domain - If you have a domain name on this server, you can access WHM [mydomain.com/whm] Cpanel [mydomain.com/cpanel] and webmail [mydomain.com/webmail]. If you are using a mail client, you can also use your domain name in the mail settings to start connecting right away.</li>
<li>Wait - After 4 hours, this should resolve back to correct IP and the hostname for the server will start working for you without the need to make any changes.</li>

plesk61.hostinguk.net - 79.171.34.4

plesk65.hostinguk.net - 79.171.39.7

plesk69.hostinguk.net - 79.171.34.12</p>
<p>We are currently investigating the issue, however services on these hosts are currently down. Updates will be provided as the issue is progressed.</p>
<p>Update 15:11

The servers plesk61 and plesk65 are currently up however we are still monitoring these and checking over services.</p>
<p>update 15:14

The server Plesk61 has gone down again. We are checking this.</p>
<p>update 15:40

The server plesk61 is currently running again, we have stopped some services we believe may be causing an issue and are still monitoring.</p>
<p>Update 16:16

All 3 servers are currently up. We believe we have found the service that is causing the issue and are currently running through this with the third party software providers.</p>

We're working with CloudLinux to try and get to the root-cause of the problem. This does unfortunately mean you may see more interruption to your services.</p>

<p>The host is down while we are performing this and hope to have this backup shortly.</p>

            <summary type="html"><![CDATA[<p>The automated cPanel update process on November 5th has resulted in an issue with MariaDB (MySQL).</p>
<p>cPanel have provided advice on the following link:</p>

<p>For Shared Hosting and Managed Server customers, we are working through systems and downgrading MariaDB as they advise.  If we have not yet reverted the update to your service will do so as soon as possible,.</p>
<p>If you are not a Shared Hosting customer or do not have a Managed Service, please follow the advice above if your web site(s) are currently down or affected by the issue.</p>
