North Wales Data Centre Migration Friday 19th June 2026 20:00:00

Hosting UK will be carrying out a planned infrastructure migration, moving services from our North Wales data centre to our Tier 3 Maidenhead data centre.

Impact

During the maintenance window:

Dedicated servers hosted in our North Wales data centre will be powered down and unavailable while they are physically relocated. Affected shared hosting platforms will also be temporarily unavailable while migration activities are completed. Websites, email services, databases, and other hosted services on affected platforms may experience downtime. Services may be unavailable for the entire maintenance window, although we expect many services to be restored sooner where possible.

Updates to follow

We apologise for the ongoing disruption. We are continuing to investigate known issues with customer dedicated servers and email services on mail2.hostinguk.net.

Our data centre staff, network teams and infrastructure teams are working together as a priority to reach a resolution. We appreciate your patience and will provide the next update at 8:00pm.

If you require any further assistance, please contact Support.

We are continuing to see issues affecting mail2.hostinguk.net following the recent Hosting UK shared hosting migration work.

Customers using this mail server may experience intermittent problems accessing email services or sending and receiving messages. Our technical teams are actively investigating and working to restore normal service as quickly as possible.

Any email sent during this period should be delivered once services are fully restored, although delivery times may depend on the sending mail provider.

We apologise for the inconvenience and will provide the next email update at 6pm, or sooner if more information becomes available.

We are continuing to work to resolve issues with the rack switches, and we are still seeing some services offline as a result.

Our infrastructure teams are working closely with the network team to restore the remaining affected services as quickly and safely as possible. Shared and email services are now fully operational.

We anticipate providing a further update at around 6pm. We apologise for the continued disruption and appreciate your patience while work continues.
